BC First Nations Climate Change Gathering

OPEN TO ALL FIRST NATIONS IN BC

Join First Nations Leaders from across BC for this 2-day First Nations Climate Gathering. Hear from climate change experts about the changes that we need to prepare for and bring your questions for discussion about what climate change will mean for your land, your people and your way of life.

This Gathering is intended as an education session to provide First Nations with the necessary tools and terminology to discuss climate change with each other, with governments, and with allies/organizations and industry. A future session will bring First Nations Leaders back to together to talk about how to prepare for the future climate and build resilience to impacts.

HOTEL and SHUTTLE: Rooms are available at the River Rock Casino ($159 to $219 +tax depending on room type, use this link and code NEGIFN, then select River Rock), at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport ($239 +tax, use this link to book) and Vancouver Airport Marriott ($259 +tax, use this link to book). A shuttle will be available to and from the event each day from each hotel.

TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT: Please book your own travel. Travel subsidy will be provided to one (1) representative per First Nation. Travel claim forms will be distributed to all registrants prior to event, and hard copies will be available at the Registration Desk.
